Another Great Pinnacle of Achievement!

I must say those wheels look pretty cool...
We’ve done it! For most of April 2010, the Flying Cloud, R-505 has come out at the very top of a Google search for ‘R-505′ as the first of 6,750,000 listings. This is no mean accomplishment, and I imagine the folks at RPM Wheels, REL Acoustics, and Sony were wondering what this business with the airships was about. I’d like to thank all of you in the Flying Cloud community who have made this feat possible. If we stick together we might someday hope to come out on top of searches for even more popular words, like ‘flying’, ‘cloud’, and ‘the’ :)

Friends inform me that we’ve also been showing up in the top five in a Google search for ‘naked viking girl’. I have mixed feeling about this…

You also do well with the “sultry uraninate”!

We might question just WHY someone would be googling “R-505” if they weren’t in fact looking for RPM wheels, a Sony computer or some other mundane product, but I suppose we should go for all we can get. I find it much more significant that “Naked Viking Girl” gets us on the first page, although I imagine people searching for that will probably not linger on the FC site. Actually, there are some pretty hawt tattoo designs on that Google page…

Meanwhile, I think it’s much more compelling that “sultry island maidens” gets us a solid No. 1 position, and should one follow the link he will find that FC delivers as advertised!

You raise a good point, Kona! The web media is full of articles about Search Engine Optimization — I’m sure one if the reasons is that ‘SEO’ sounds rather like ‘CEO’ to the casual listener. But it doesn’t do someone much good for their site to show up at the head of a search for… say… fruitcakes unless their site actually has something to do with fruitcakes. OK, maybe I picked a bad example :)

Judging from the number of searches for phrases such as ‘airship 505′ I suspect that many of the searches for ‘R-505′ actually were intended to find us rather than those admittedly awesome wheels. Which would be on my wish list. If I had something flashier than a Jeep (I don’t think they’d fit my Suzuki SV650). And as Robert has pointed out, we are world leaders when it comes to sultry uraninite. And… oooh… ‘airship warrior-women’! :)
