Role Playing Journals

Postby Max_Writer » Fri Mar 26, 2010 3:51 pm

Hey everyone. I'm a tabletop gamer and have kept journals for the games I've played since 1991. More recently, I've been putting some of these online at a couple of places to share with people.

You can find a few on my MySpace Blog here:

I ran Call of Cthulhu from 2007 to 2009 and those journals can be found here:

http://www.yog-sothoth.com/modules.php? ... Max_Writer

The first is "Crack'd and Crook'd Manse" and they go on from there. Don't know if anyone is actually interested in reading them but they are as accurate as I could make them.

Hope this doesn't qualify as spam.

Thanks.

Who can say? Since this is the Open Forum, and since I always thought Call of Cthulu
was rather cool, I'll leave this for others to decide :)

We made several attempts to start a CoC campaign here, but I suppose the stars weren't
right for Their return. Alas. In the end we stuck with Traveller. But I've always wondered
what might have been, so I look forward to reading your journals.

I hope you enjoy them. I'd love to hear more of your Traveller stories too. I enjoyed the art for Traveller and have also liked the Flying Cloud stories. That has the feel of an RPG too.

I'm not yet running another campaign but got to play in one this past weekend. The journal entry can be found here:

http://www.yog-sothoth.com/modules.php? ... Max_Writer

It's the most recent and Entitled "Eric's WWI Game - Rescued!"

The game takes place in 1918 during the Great War. My character is Captain Christopher Reed, a medical doctor with the Allies. Other characters include:

Nurse Felicity Alders

Lieutenant Anton Kemps

Private Harold Olver

Corporal William Grimm

Jean Pierre Valois

I hope everyone will excuse the use of the words "colored," "negro," and "boy" when referring to the black npc/former pc who was imprisoned with my character. It is written to reflect the dialect and mentality of the time and does not indicate any racism on my part or the part of any of the players.

I played a GURPS game this past weekend (Generic Universal Role Playing System) called Adventures in the New World that takes place in Charleston, S.C., in 1890. I'm U.S. Naval Captain Oliver Kirkpatrick, investigating (strangely enough) a mysterious airship that was sighted in the area.

It can be viewed in my facebook notes (all at once) or at http://blog.myspace.com/max_writer in several entries.

I hope you find it interesting. I'm a new player in a game that's been played a few times so I played catch up this last game. However, the pursuit is now on!

Eloise Smith - Volunteer ambulance driver

Nurse Felicity Adkins

Private Harold Olver

Corporal William Grimm

Jean Pierre Valois - reporter

I finally got the journal entry for Eric's GURPs game (1890 Charleston) done and then forgot about it so I'm sending it out today.

It can be found in my facebook notes or at my MySpace blog (five entries) at http://blog.myspace.com/max_writer

Hope everyone enjoys it.
